WWWWD Back Again
Sometimes we all just need a laugh. When life gets stressful (whether from work, the recession, boy trouble, or being trapped in a pungent subway car underground due to an “incident”) it’s the perfect time to indulge in some fashion satire. The Spring/Summer 2010 addition of WWWWD arrived in our inbox the other morning and we could not stop smiling.
This web-zine really pokes fun at the ridiculousness that sometimes is the fashion industry. In this issue they mock Rachel Zoe’s faux fur obsession, announce Lady Gaga’s bubble wrap collection, admit Tyra Banks is the gayest person on the planet followed by Christian Siriano, find humor in a models death (morbidly hilarious), and include a Helena Bonham Carter fashion faux pas montage! What really got us was the cover story. In the last year we have written about weight issues, exploitation of women, unrealistic body images, and more, so we cracked up at their feature article titled, Thin is Back! They rejoiced that malnourished models were back, stating “I am sick of curves! I had a model in my show last season who was so fat she needed a bra.” If you haven’t checked out WWWWD yet we highly recommend signing up for their newsletter here.
