Video: No One Asks to Be Raped.
This PSA out of Scotland is something we don’t see every day — nay, it’s something we hardly see at all. Taking on the notion that women “ask” to be raped by the way they dress, it aims slightly above the lowest common denominator and refreshingly assumes that people will be able to question this belief that has not only been perpetuated by fraternities and assholes the world over, but by some courts of law.
Even better (than the PSA, not than the atrocious court rulings), the ad isn’t a stand alone piece of amazing-ness — it’s part of a campaign against victim-blaming called “Not Ever,” as in women don’t asked to be raped — not ever.
