CHANEL: Paris Haute Couture Fall 2010

When I love a collection you can tell right away. I'm it's cheerleader, I'm effervescent, effusive, ebullient, bubbly about all the looks I see on the runway! Thing is I'm just not loving Karl Lagerfeld's latest for CHANEL Haute Couture . Sure the finely stitched wool suits are classic, and a few of the dresses are wow, but maybe it has to do with those pointed slouch boots paired with every look

About Harveynichols.com

Harvey Nichols history goes back to 1813 when Mr Benjamin Harvey opened a lined shop on the corner of Knightsbridge and Sloane street in London. Later on the business started selling oriental carpets, silks and luxury goods alongside the linens. In 1919 Harvey Nichols was bought by Debenhams, and, arriving to our days, the store embarked on a major refurbishment in food market, restaurant, bar and caffé. Other stores are available in Manchester, Leeds, Dublin, Edinburgh and Birmingham. At present, with the online store, you have a very good chance to shop among big brands such as Prada, Fendi, YSL, and indulge yourself in a fantastic beauty section where it’s so easy to get in and so hard to get out without a full basket…

Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel: Love it? Drop it?

Here in Celebrity Fashion Watch, we make sure that we don’t just slam stars just because, or shower them with compliments for the heck of it.

Well we know that in fashion, there are really times when it’s hard to draw the line between a hit look and a missed one.

For Sarah Jessica Parker’s case, it’s drawing the line between loving it from dropping it.

Attending the Mobile Art Chanel Contemporary Art Container opening at the Rumsey Playfield in New York last Tuesday (October 21), the ever-fashionable star dons on a simple pink Chanel tweed blazer and slip dress giving the look of the 20s.

Why you’ll love it? – If standing out in the crowd is what you want, then this look is definitely for you. It’s stylish, unique, and eye-catching!

Why you’ll have to drop it? – Guess this look is just so off the mark already; like only my grandmother would consider wearing this.

What about you? What do you think of this look? Drop some comments below.

Time Magazine Fashion & Design Supplement

One of the reasons I particularly love this time of the year is that everyone has fashion on the brain. Time Magazine’s ‘Style & Design’ supplement has just hit the news stands here in Europe and it has a gorgeous editorial spread shot by Alexi Lubomirski featuring Chanel Iman sporting some of Fall’s most dramatic looks including Lanvin’s grosgrain and wool dress.

Also of note is the ‘Women In Luxury’ piece that features some of the luxury industry’s most influential players including Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo. If you’re looking to get your mind off of Wall Street’s current crisis, I highly recommend you pick up a copy. Enjoy!

Madonna There Is Something Very Wrong About Glamourising Violence!

Madonna at the premiere of her film Filth and Wisdom in NYC last night.  Dressed all in black, Madonna topped off her outfit with a pair of Chanel platform shoes, which instead of a heel, has a small gun attached.  As usual Madonna will do anything to court attention.
